Privacy Policy
How LandQuest collects, uses, shares and protects personal data.
LandQuest is operated from Portugal.
1. Scope and controller
This Policy covers LandQuest websites, applications and the complete platform ecosystem. LandQuest determines how personal data is processed for platform operations. Businesses, clubs, organizers, hosts and other users may separately act as controllers for data they collect through their own activities and must provide their own notices where required.
2. Data we process
Depending on your use, we process account and authentication data; profile, identity, verification and organization-role data; routes, GPX, waypoints and public or private geographic content; precise, background and live location; expedition participation, communications and emergency information; groups, clubs, memberships and dues records; vehicle, garage and rental data; stays, market, booking, payment, refund and invoice data; TravelBooks, media, reviews, messages and reports; Quest, reward and promotion data; consent and preference records; and device, IP, browser, security, audit, diagnostic and usage data.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We use data to provide contracts and requested services; create accounts and enforce permissions; publish content according to visibility choices; manage routes, expeditions, memberships, bookings, rentals, payments and support; verify identity and authority; prevent fraud and abuse; moderate content; protect safety and security; comply with tax, accounting, consumer and regulatory duties; establish legal claims; improve reliability under legitimate interests; and send optional analytics or marketing where consent is required. Consent may be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.
4. Public content and location
Content marked public may be indexed, copied and shared outside LandQuest. You should not publish private addresses, sensitive sites, vehicle identifiers or another person's data without authority. Precise and live location can reveal sensitive routines; visibility controls must be used carefully. Organizers and participants can receive location and operational information where the feature and permissions allow it. Offline devices may store data and synchronize later.
6. Retention and security
Data is kept only as long as necessary for the service, account, transaction, safety, fraud prevention, disputes and legal duties. Retention varies by category and may continue after account closure where law or a legitimate claim requires it. We use access controls, encryption in transit, logging, backups and organizational safeguards proportionate to risk, but no system is completely secure. Security concerns should be sent to security@landquest.app.
7. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection; withdraw consent; manage visibility and communications; and complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD, or another competent authority. We may verify identity before acting. Some requests may be limited by others' rights, legal duties, safety, fraud prevention or legal claims.
8. Children, automated decisions and changes
LandQuest is not directed to children below the applicable minimum age and does not knowingly permit ineligible accounts. Material decisions are not based solely on automated processing where this would produce legal or similarly significant effects unless legally permitted with safeguards. We may update this Policy and will communicate material changes through appropriate channels.
